About The Provocateur

The Provocateur dropped on August 22, 2025, a year after Homewrecked, her debut single. Superscar, MachineGirl and DeathByDevotion came out in between, and she announced the EP's release date along with DeathByDevotion. It was meant to be out a week earlier, but she pushed it back to add another track. Then there's the cover. Vogue and Harper's Bazaar both read it as a nod to Sophy Rickett's photo series. Subtle, she is not.

Grimes found her on TikTok through Homewrecked and messaged to ask who did the harmonies. It was her. Grimes ended up producing MachineGirl and singing backing vocals on it. Zhone, Dylan Brady, Y2K and Blake Slatkin are on the rest, and Vogue has since called the whole thing electroclash.

She wrote it after the show, and a lot of it is her answering back. FinallyApologizing is about people telling her to apologise - in her words, "I don't have anything to say sorry for." SexOnTheBeat takes the comments she got after signing with Capitol and turns them into a dance track. It came out with its own video on release day, and she took the EP out on The ProvocaTour that October.
