About Sounds Good Feels Good

Sounds Good Feels Good came out on October 23, 2015, and the band spent about three months living in an LA studio to make it. The title is a studio phrase you can hear at the start of Hey Everybody!, which samples Duran Duran's Hungry Like the Wolf. The video has them in dead-end summer jobs, Calum walking dogs and Ashton in a dinosaur suit.

She's Kinda Hot is the lead single. Calum said the title is "really misleading": it's about not caring what others think, a "revolution for outcasts." Permanent Vacation is Green Day-style and debuted on the first night of their Rock Out With Your Socks Out tour. Jet Black Heart is Michael's favourite, the song he's "most proud of," and its video was made with fan stories. Waste the Night was the first song written for the album, and the drums were recorded on a rented John Bonham kit. Outer Space / Carry On is the one with the story: they wrote the first half in a tiny town on the California coast and recorded Luke's vocal in two takes on the beach at midnight, around a fire.

Safety Pin, The Girl Who Cried Wolf and Broken Home are the deluxe songs. Seventeen songs, about five minutes.
