About Give Me A Minute
Her debut album dropped on August 13, 2020, and she put it out independently. She wrote it while she was studying abroad in Spain in the fall of 2019. She told Clash it was about "going through a breakup and ended up alone, then meeting someone new", and she'd describe it now as "young and naïve".
She produced it with Philip Etherington, Dillan Witherow and Ehren Ebbage. It's folky and soft, and it came out a song at a time before the album did. Apple Pie was first, in December 2019, then To the Mountains, Means Something and Pancakes for Dinner, with Over-The-Ocean Call (Andrew) last, a month before release.
Her dad, Mark, died in March 2020, and she's dedicated every track 13 to him since. Headstones and Land Mines was the first. It's the earth one, before the air and the water on the next two albums.
The Dallas Observer put it on its list of the best albums of 2020, which is fair. I think Pancakes for Dinner is still one of the sweetest things she's written.
Thirteen songs, about three minutes. If you want her next one straight after, try five seconds flat.
