Nicole Song Sorter

About Nicole

Nicole dropped on August 12, 2022, and it's named after her. It started in October 2021, when All Too Well (10 Minute Version) had just come out. She was so inspired that she booked a studio day on her own and recorded some of the old songs she'd taken off "nzee24", her YouTube channel, when she became NIKI - just a vocal and an acoustic guitar. Of Taylor's re-recordings, she's said "the wheels started turning for me." The opening act grew up.

She's said half the record was written in high school. Take A Chance With Me was her second original song on YouTube, posted when she was 15, and she wrote Oceans & Engines at 17. High School in Jakarta and Backburner are new ones, written looking back, and High School in Jakarta took the longest to finish. Most of it was recorded in Jacob Ray's living room, and three songs in Ethan Gruska's garage. The screaming at the end of Facebook Friends is her and her friends.

The singles told the story backwards. Before came out first in June because, in her words, "'Before' is the end." Oceans & Engines was the middle, and High School in Jakarta, "the start of everything", came out last. Their videos are part of But I'm Letting Go, a short film that went on Prime Video that month.

Uproxx said its takes on love approach "Taylor Swift-level genius". Backburner became a single in May 2023 and peaked in Indonesia and the Philippines in 2025, nearly two years later. Bring tissues.

Twelve songs, about three minutes.
