About The Dream

The Dream dropped on September 19, 2025, by The Favors - Ashe and FINNEAS, with David Marinelli on drums and Ricky Gourmet on guitar. A month into her break she'd asked FINNEAS, "What if we made a record for fun?" She'd lost the joy in making music, and his answer was to start a band.

They made the whole thing before they had a label, and FINNEAS produced it. It's '70s songwriter rock - they name Carole King, Carly Simon and the Beach Boys, and say the Fleetwood Mac comparisons were an accident. An anonymous Instagram account posting camcorder clips was the first hint, and Ashe played Lake George at one of his shows before anyone knew what it was for.

The Little Mess You Made started out as his slow ballad, and she pushed for the angry, uptempo version you hear now. Times Square Jesus is about the characters in Times Square.

It reached number 174 on the Billboard 200, and they played Red Rocks and Austin City Limits. It was always meant to be a one-off, so I'd treat it as one. Thirteen songs, about three minutes.
